2 Months
It's been two months since Marlon's sudden passing and I surprised myself at just how strong I was during this terrible time. But in the past week I've been thinking of him so much and certain things I see or hear just set me off into tears. I'm not quite sure how it got there, but Ivy's (my daughter) pacifier was on top of his urn- and there was no way she could've reached up there. That made me remember the time when I asked Marlon to take away the pacifier she had in her mouth and as quickly as he did that, she had a back-up in her other hand and popped it in. Marlon had found this hilarious and said that Ivy showed him you have to be prepared. So I think that perhaps this was Marlon's way of letting me know he was okay. I don't know about everyone else, but I've been missing him more than ever this past week. God Bless you Marlon.

I miss Marlon terribly. So many times, I still, even now, find myself about to call him to discuss something with him, and then I remember...
Marlon always had an ear to lend, for those who really needed to talk, or discuss what was going on in their lives. As much as I knew him, I never saw the depth of his compassion run shallow. He sincerely cared, and that is indeed a rare thing nowadays. I am proud to call you my best friend.
Dear Amy,
I'm so sorry to learn of Marlon's passing, though I had no knowledge of his existence until today. Though I never knew him, a post he made on a cycling website in Dec. '97 has helped me today. He spoke of a rare yellow bicycle that he found at a goodwill store. I have the identical blue bicycle, and as far as I know, there are no others. Throughout the entire internet, Marolon's post was the only refference to a Clara Bicycle. I know this is very wishful thinking, but have you seen his Yellow Clara Italian Bike, or know anything about it or who might know about it? I am trying to learn more about my own bike, and this is the first lead I've come accross. Take care of your yourself and your family, and never despair.

Incase nobody else was aware or previously mentioned it, I was just watching a video online and found this speaking clip of Marlon in a bit about Youth Cycle Recycle (now neighborhood bike works).. http://www.greenworks.tv/tvshow/ind_families/recycling_h.htm
It's a two minute clip (or is supposed to be) that is part of this longer show... http://www.greenworks.tv/tvshow/ind_families/recycling.htm
(the shorter clip SHOULD have only included the bike part, but didn't..) You can probably get the video on vhs from greenworks.tv/greentreks.org if you don't already have it, and I might bet they might have leftovers from the cutting room floor laying around somewhere, too.
